Recipe: Oat, Honey & Castor Masque for Mature Skin

Katari black castor oil with an olivewood applicator beside a glass jar of castor beans on a brass tray

Black Castor is thick, rich and deeply moisturizing. On its own it can feel heavy on the face, but in this masque it melts into oats and honey for a soft, comfortable finish.

You'll need

  • 2 tablespoons oatmeal, soaked in a little water
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons Black Castor Oil

How to make it

  1. Mix. Stir the soaked oats, honey and Black Castor Oil together.
  2. Apply. Smooth onto clean, slightly damp skin.
  3. Wait. Let it almost dry, about 15 minutes.
  4. Seal. Rinse with warm water and press in Hoba before skin dries. For extra richness at night, add a drop of Barie on top.

Patch test anything new on your inner forearm first. Skip any kitchen ingredient you are sensitive to, and keep food-based masques fresh: mix them right before you use them.
