Cold-pressed from dried petals and buds of the rose bush plant - Rosa canina, this oil carries one of the highest natural concentrations of essential fatty acids of any facial oil. Roughly 44% linoleic acid and 33% alpha-linolenic acid, alongside naturally occurring provitamin A carotenoids (beta-carotene, lycopene) and tocopherols. It is this fatty acid density, rare in a single-origin oil, that made rosehip a staple of Mediterranean and North African skincare for generations, prized for how it feels on skin that is asking for more than a standard moisturizer can give.

Argil is hand-harvested from a remote, roadless ancient seabed and sun-dried only — never kiln-fired. While industrial clays processed at 500°C+ lose their mineral ion exchange capacity, Argil’s solar drying preserves this "living" structure, allowing it to swap its magnesium and calcium ions for pore toxins and excess sebum. At 4.7% iron (5–9× more than pharmacy clays), it stimulates microcirculation to restore the dull, uneven tone caused by slowing cell turnover during perimenopause.

Roseau is a true rose hydrosol — steam-distilled from Damask rose petals harvested in Beja, Tunisia, at the same family-run distillery that's prepared our flower waters for over a decade. 

 

Unlike diluted "rose water" sprays cut with alcohol and fragrance, Roseau is the actual condensate captured during distillation, carrying the plant's water-soluble compounds, including phenylethyl alcohol and quercetin glycosides, studied for their role in supporting skin's natural firmness and calming the look of redness and sensitivity. 

 

It also resets skin's pH to 4.5–5.5 after tap water (pH 7–8) strips the acid mantle post-cleanse, priming skin to better absorb everything that follows in your ritual.

The science: pH 4.5–5.5 · Phenylethyl alcohol inhibits collagen-degrading elastase and collagenase. Its low molecular weight (<200 Da) enables stratum corneum penetration and acts as an enhancer, tripling the absorption of subsequent oils (NCBI PMC4054083). Always apply before any Katari oil. Comedogenicity: 0.
