Argil
100% Pure Primordial Green Clay
- What is Argil

Argil, pronounced [arr-zheel'] as a spin on a French word 'argile' that means clay. It is a green clay of a bentonite family. It is a natural clay that formed from the organic plant matter, salts and sediments on the basin of the ancient Mediterranean Sea, now it is covered by shells and crystals as part of Atlas Mountains footsteps.
We hand-pick Argil from an open quarry from a very remote, pristine location in Tunisia. The area receives less than half an inch of rain annually. This is what makes this clay extremely potent and concentrated, as rain does not deplete (wash off) the minerals and thousands of years under the sands compacted the clay and hot sun supercharged clay's tiny powerful particles.
Clays are very absorbent and will trap toxins very easily. This is why it is very important to know the source of the clay and make sure it is from the purest location, not contaminated by environmental or industrial pollutants. After all clay's job is to remove toxins from your skin, not add them. And this is why we do not just buy clay, but go all the way to find and bring it from the location untouched by human development.
Argil is rich iron, magnesium, calcium, gypsum and contains hundreds of trace minerals beneficial for health and vitality of skin. This clay has ability to adsorb and trap toxins and impurities. Argil is naturally pH-neutral and hypoallergenic. This particular combination of minerals in Katari Argil green clay is what makes it both extremely powerful to cleanse and purify oily or acneic skin and also a great ingredient for sensitive skin.
Clay that is rich in iron, like Katari Argil, is also known to improve circulation, pulling blood to the skin surface and helping with skin metabolic processes and cellular turnover, so you can notice a little redness after a masque. It is not skin sensitivity, it is simply clay doing its job. It is a normal (good) reaction and the redness will go away within minutes.
Journey back to the time of the illustrious ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, where green clay reigned supreme as a treasured skincare ingredient. Celebrated for its remarkable therapeutic properties, this luxurious clay has mesmerized civilizations across centuries.
Renowned for its impeccable ability to draw out impurities from the skin, green clay has been hailed as a divine gift. Its mineral-rich nature nourishes and rejuvenates, unveiling a radiant complexion from within. From Cleopatra's legendary beauty rituals to the exquisite baths of Greek goddesses, green clay stood as a timeless symbol of purity and elegance.

Storage
Argil green clay is very easy. It is not sensitive to light or temperature. It loves sun. But it will soak up moisture and smell out of the air. So keep it unmixed (until you need to use it) and seals in an air-tight container.
There is no shelf life for clay and it keeps its super-powers for as long as you keep it dry.
Warnings
It is very difficult to misuse Argil green clay. In many countries people ingest clay as a supplement for calcium and / or magnesium. While it is safe to eat little chunks of clay, we do not recommend it, as we only promote our clay for external uses.
Anyone can use this clay from kids to teens to all adults with any skin type or concern.
