For perimenopausal skin, it performs two critical jobs: restoring pH 4.5–5.5 after tap water (pH 7–8) strips the acid mantle, and strengthening capillaries via quercetin glycosides to directly reduce hormonal redness and rosacea flares.

The science: pH 4.5–5.5 · Phenylethyl alcohol inhibits collagen-degrading elastase and collagenase.
