Most pomegranate oil is pressed from the seed alone. Ours is pressed from the whole kernel, dried first, which is why it comes out pink. Sometimes it's orange, sometimes coral, like the fruit itself, and it always smells delicious.

We don't filter out the color or deodorize the scent.

The Nile Delta has been farmed for thousands of years, on soil the river carried down from the heart of Africa. Our pomegranates grow on small farms of a few dozen trees each.

Hand-blown glass No two alike

The glass is blown in Egypt, each bottle on its own, over fire. One has a thinner wall and sits warmer in your hand, another's neck leans slightly to one side, and a third kept an air bubble inside — someone's breath that never made it out, set in the glass for good. The one that reaches you exists nowhere else.

We fill and cork by hand, one bottle at a time. Glass and cork are inert: nothing moves from the container into the oil.

Sinks in pink, leaves a glow

Two drops, warmed between your palms and pressed into damp skin. It's lighter than it looks. The color disappears, the glow stays, and so does a faint scent of fresh fruit. Its star is punicic acid, a fatty acid almost no other plant makes.

How to Use

Press 2–3 drops into damp skin after Roseau or Geran.
On marks or dark spots, add one extra drop and massage for 30 seconds.

When to Use

PM is best. Layer it over Hoba if your skin is sensitive. Use it in the AM too in dry or cold weather.

I take the long way. On purpose.

Since 2010 I've been chasing ingredients across the Mediterranean, one maker at a time. I've walked Amr's fields near Alexandria, watched Mohammed's glass glow in a Cairo workshop, and spent ten years searching before I found Amin, our flower-water distiller in Béja, Tunisia. And only years to find a perfect bergamot water.

None of this is the easy route. That's the point. Every bottle holds one ingredient from a family I know by name, carried home the long way, so when you receive your Katari package is a small treasure with a real story behind it.

I use this remarkable oil as a serum; it's very moisturizing, but not heavy and I use it on it's own or as part of my skin product layering routine.

All those comments about how amazing this smells? Absolutely true. It is such a treat to put this on, and it will make you so impressed with how mother nature can create something that smells SO good, it smells almost like candy.

A Product I Didn't Know I Needed!!

This lightweight oil has become a true staple to my routine, especially after days I do exfoliating treatments. The smell alone give me joy and it always leaves my face feeling soft and smooth. It absorbs so well into the skin and you really only need a small amount.

Questions & Answers

Why is my Granate pink (or orange)?

We press the whole dried kernel, not only the seed, so the natural pigments come through. The shade changes with each harvest, just like the fruit. That's how you know nothing was refined out.

I felt a slight tingle. Is that normal?

For some skin, yes, especially after sun or with melasma. The oil's active compounds can give extra-sensitive skin a little tingle. It fades on its own and is not an adverse reaction. If it bothers you, mix Granate with Hoba or switch to Hoba alone for a while. Patch-test any new ingredient.

Who is Granate best for?

Dull, tired or weather-stressed skin, from the 30s into the 60s and beyond. It's also a favorite for massage and hair. Keep the bottle out of direct sun: its natural color fades in light.
