Raw, stable & preservative-free

Sun-dried and sifted, never blended. Dry clay can't spoil, so it needs no preservative. Leave it in the sun or the cold, and it still works like day one.

Clay is very absorbent, so keep it in an airtight container to stay fresh and dry. And sun is great!

We spent over 10 years testing clays before we found this one. It comes from a single quarry in the basin of an ancient, long-dried Mediterranean sea, and it's dug by hand.

It's milled into a fine powder at an ISO-certified facility in New York, then comes to our Denver studio.

Hand-blown glass No two alike

The glass is blown in Egypt, each jar on its own, over fire. One has a thinner wall and sits warmer in your hand, another's rim leans slightly to one side, and a third kept an air bubble inside — someone's breath that never made it out, set in the glass for good. The one that reaches you exists nowhere else.

We fill and cork by hand, one jar at a time. Glass and cork are inert: nothing moves from the jar into the clay.

Clearer-looking pores after one masque

Mix a teaspoon with water into a smooth, almost runny paste. Apply it before your shower and let the steam work for a few minutes. Skin feels clean and soft, never tight. Pores look smaller and blackheads loosen their grip.

Dab it on a single spot overnight, mask your back and shoulders, or stir a handful into a warm bath.

A clarifying rinse for your scalp

Mix a tablespoon with a glass of warm water, massage it into the scalp, then rinse. It lifts buildup the way a clarifying shampoo does. Add a little shampoo if you like, and condition after.

Using Your Argil

How to Use

Mix 1 tsp with 1–2 tsp warm water (or Roseau or Geran) into a smooth paste, using glass, wood or ceramic, never metal.
Apply to slightly damp skin, avoiding the eyes.
Rinse after 10 minutes, before it fully dries, then follow with an oil.

When to Use

1–2 times a week. Once a week for dry or sensitive skin.

From the Founder

I take the long way. On purpose.

Since 2010 I've been chasing ingredients across the Mediterranean, one maker at a time. I've walked Amr's fields near Alexandria, watched Mohammed's glass glow in a Cairo workshop, and spent ten years searching before I found Amin, our flower-water distiller in Béja, Tunisia. And only years to find a perfect bergamot water.

None of this is the easy route. That's the point. Every bottle holds one ingredient from a family I know by name, carried home the long way, so when you receive your Katari package is a small treasure with a real story behind it.

What a great mask

I just received my order a week ago and tried the mask the first night. I was so pleased that it didn't bother my sensitive skin, the blackheads on my nose were considerably diminished and my skin was soft not dried out. I put the Barie oil on after and the next morning my skin looked and felt amazing. This company is a cut above in quality you can feel it in the oils and the bottles are stunning. Radiant and smooth skin

I won this last year and was so excited to try it! I have dry skin now as I got older and can be prone to breakouts.

However, this Masque is gentle enough to not irritate my skin and also keep it smooth and radiant. I can use this everyday.

Keep in mind, if you are like me, your skin may feel a little tingle and may be a little pink after you wash off, but this is due to circulation. I love how my skin looks and feels a little while later. Again, radiant!

I love using this during a shower to really open the pores. That way it is less mess to clean. Even though it is a powder to make into a paste, it is not super messy to wash off. You can use this on your body!

Great product and a LITTLE works so do not use more than a small scoop(nickel size).

Amazing!

The Argil masque is wonderful! My skin felt so soft after and it looked refreshed. My 12yr old daughter tried it and she was so excited that her acne actually looked better after one use. It calmed her skin down and her breakouts were far less red in appearance after the first use. Argil is a wonderful masque and the fact that it is a pure product with no added chemicals makes it even more amazing!

This is truly one of those life changing products because of what it can do and so easily. I bought my first jar after using up the sample pack I had received. best clay ever

I've been a clay fanatic for years, and always alternated for my clients between ones with more drying power to absorb oil and deep clean, and those with a higher mineral content for conditioning. Argil has replaced 4 clays for us! (french green, rhassoul, kaolin, and blue) When we use Argil, it refines the surface, draws out deep oil deposits (blackheads), and leaves the skin soft and supple. It really is our workhorse and pleasant to work with.

Questions & Answers

Why not mix Argil with metal?

Argil is rich in minerals like iron and magnesium, and they react with metal. Use glass, wood or ceramic to keep it at full strength.

Can Argil go bad?

Dry, never. Keep it in an airtight container and it lasts forever. Mix only what you need each time, because mixed clay doesn't keep.

What else can I use Argil for?

A scalp detox, a spot treatment, a back or underarm masque, a foot detox, or a full-body mineralizing bath with clay and salts. Once or twice a week is plenty.
