We handpick Argil during summer from our remote quarry in the foothills of the Altas Mountains in Tunisia. It took us over a decade to trace a clay with a chemical composition that makes it both gentle and extremely powerful.

EXPLAINED
Why use single ingredients?
Suprisingly less is more. And less of a perfectly good thing is just enough to do what needs to be done. When you use fresh, naturally potent, proven by millenia ingredients, you accomplish a few things. First, you get results and you can see them. Second, you know exactly how your skin or hair reacts to each. You can never wonder whether your skin does not like a specific ingredient in a product. There is one ingredient per product and each has been tested by thousands of years of use in the Mediterranean. Each is a timeless selfcare staple suitable for all ages, skin and hair types.
How do we make them?
Preservatives are amazing, but we do not use them. There are natural preservatives like sugar, honey, ice and salt that can be effectively used with some products but not with ours. Instead, we selected products (all are single-ingredient products) that are naturally stable due to the process of how they are made. All our products are freshly cold-pressed, vapor-distilled or handpicked to offer the most potent version of the natural ingredient to keep your skin and hair naturally healthy and protected.

Ingredient
Argil is a green clay of bentonite family. It is a natural clay that formed from the organic plant matter, salts and sediments on the basin of ancient Mediterranean Sea.
Chemistry
Argil is rich iron, magnesium, calcium, gypsum and contains hundreds of trace minerals from organic plant matter that created clay tens of thousands of year ago. Read more about each mineral in our In-Depth Argil PDF. Argil is naturally pH-neutral and hypoallergenic.
Sourcing
Shelf Life & Storage
When kept unmixed in an air-tight container not to absorb moisture and odors from its surroundings, Argil has virtually no expiration date. It loves sun and does not get affected by temperature or light. Mix Argil just before use and do not use already used mixed clay - it absorbs all toxins from the skin and you do not want them back.
